The Washington Department of Labor & Industries said that workers' compensation insurance rates are going to fall an average 2.2 percent next year. The actual amount will be different for different industries and among the several funds.
Rates for the Accident Fund, which provides wage and disability benefits, will fall an average 7.5 percent in 2001. These rates are paid entirely by employers.
Rates for the Medical Aid Fund, which pays medical costs for injured workers, will remain the same. Employers and employees pay these rates equally.
