A former city manager near St. Louis, Mo., was sentenced Friday to nearly four years in federal prison for accepting kickbacks from an agent in exchange for placement of the city's workers' compensation insurance.
The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported the sentencing of former Berkeley City Manager Joseph King for accepting $32,500 in kickbacks to steer the city's insurance business to the agent from 2003 to 2006.
