Deadly Track Record at BP Refineries

A refinery blast that killed 15 and injured more than 100 at a Texas City refinery this year was the seventh fatal accident in a decade at a BP facility, the Houston Chronicle has reported. Twenty-two people have died at BP plants -- more than one-fourth of all the refinery deaths nationwide, the Chronicle reported.
