Although the push to give Florida's first a responders an edge on workers' compensation benefits died in the Florida Legislature this session, Gov. Jeb Bush has signed another bill that helps on a couple of other insurance fronts.
On Monday, Bush signed HB1325, which guarantees that law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and other government employees can't lose their life and health insurance after testing positive for methamphetamine or some other controlled substances.
