H.K. Study: Flexing Wrist Increases Carpal Tunnel Risk

A Hong Kong study found frequently extending or flexing one's wrist can lead to an increased risk of carpal tunnel syndrome. Researchers performed a case-control study with 166 cases and 111 controls. The cases and controls, from Hong Kong in 2004, completed surveys on their health, smoking status, wrist posture, and motion. The study is published in the July 2007 issue of the biannual "Hand Surgery" journal.
