The Florida 1st District Court of Appeal Nominating Commission will meet Nov. 13 to set a schedule for interviewing applicants to replace retiring Judge Richard W. Ervin III.
Ervin will retire Jan. 1, after serving on the appeals court since 1977. Ervin served as chief judge of the appeals court from 1983 to 1985.
Gov. Jeb Bush's successor will select the new appellate judge. Workers' compensation decisions made by the state's Judges of Compensation Claims are appealed directly to the 1st District Court of Appeal.
