MedAlert Health Systems Indicted in Texas

A Travis County grand jury indicted MedAlert Healthcare Systems Inc. and its president, Joseph Osei, on workers' compensation fraud charges. MedAlert provides billing and collection services for medical providers, according to Texas Mutual Insurance Co. The insurer said the charges against Osei and MedAlert involve double-billing the Texas Mutual Insurance Co. for medical services delivered between October 2000 and March 2001.
