A handout prepared by the Minnesota Workers' Compensation Division on teenager worker claim characteristics showed that the youthful workers had a higher proportion of burns than older workers.
"Burns were most often caused by hot oil, hot water, ovens and grills," the handout reported.
However, sprains and strains accounted for the greatest number of claims.
The division's summary of teenager workers' compensation claim characteristics for 2003-2005 showed an average of 340 cash benefit claims annually for the period.
