AUSTIN, Texas -- Feuding guideline writers and unconvinced doctors could not agree at a hearing Thursday on which -- if any -- guidelines should be adopted by the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation.
Representatives for the Work Loss Data Institute and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) touted their guidelines and disparaged their competitors' offerings. Providers, for their part, said they weren't convinced any guidelines currently being considered should be adopted.
