The controversial 2003 reforms that Florida lawmakers pushed through as SB 50A appear to have played a major role in slowing the growth of medical costs and reducing indemnity cost per claim by at least 11%, the Workers Compensation Research Institute reported Wednesday.
The Massachusetts-based institute released its analysis of the early impact of Florida reforms at a conference with an estimated 60 industry representatives and reporters.
