On August 9, 1999 13 tomato pickers killed and 2 seriously injured in a crash returning home from a day of work. On Friday the WCAB issued a decision awarding death benefits to the dependents of those killed and benefits to the 2 survivors, ruling that the situation was exempt from the going and coming rule.
