A California physicians group is protesting the Division of Workers' Compensation's proposed fee schedule for medical-legal reporting, saying a rough draft of proposed rules unveiled last week would lump simple reports with complicated ones under the same fee code.
The California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery posted a 22-page position paper on the proposed fee schedule on its Web site this week. The division has not formally proposed any regulations, but held an informal "stakeholders" meeting on July 25 to bounce ideas off providers and other interested parties.
