A state senator has proposed a ballot measure that would transfer statewide jurisdiction over insurance, workers' compensation fraud and ethics matters from the Travis County District Attorney's Office to the Texas Attorney General's Office.
Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, has introduced a proposed constitutional amendment (SJR 26) and enabling legislation (SB 630) to make the change.
