Richard Smith Appointed Chair of TWCC

Associated Press reports that Richard Smith of Bryan, Texas, has been designated as the chair of the Texas Workers Compensation Commission by recently elected Gov. Rick Perry. Smith, who has been a board member since last year, is also the president and chief executive officer of a real estate brokerage business. The appointment must still be confirmed by the state Senate.
