Colorado to Require EDI Filings of FROI, Denials

Colorado stakeholders will be required to file first reports of injuries and denials electronically with the Division of Workers' Compensation, beginning in July. The state DOWC since 1994 has been using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) standard format for proof of coverage. The division began accepting first reports of injury (FROIs) electronically in 1997, and recent law changes made it the mandatory filing method on July 1.
