In the absence of any proof that an employment relationship existed between an injured claimant and the company named as a respondent, the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission was without jurisdiction to award benefits, the South Carolina Court of Appeals held.
In Porter v. Labor Depot, 4212, 03/05/2007, claimant Isiah Porter sustained a dislocated hip and multiple fractures as a result of a 20 to 20 foot fall. His hip and cervical spine required surgery as a result of the injuries.
