A teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School launched a new section of its Web site, offering patients details of the center's performance ranging from the hygiene of physicians to the mortality rate for hip-replacement patients.
The section on the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) site, titled "The Facts: Putting Ourselves Under A Microscope," is designed to provide patients with "understandable, usable, and timely information on our quality and safety record," the hospital said.
