Emergency regulations to prevent heat-related deaths among California's farm workers and outdoor laborers took effect Monday.
The state Office of Administrative Law (OAL) gave its approval this week to the emergency regulations submitted Aug. 12 by the Cal-OSHA Standards Board. Cal-OSHA took quick action on the rules after four California farm workers died of heat exposure during July.
