A former Central City, Ky., councilman was sentenced last week to prison after bilking the federal workers' compensation system for four years.
Danny Miller received a 15-month sentence after pleading guilty in September in U.S. District Court in Owensboro. He admitted to bilking the federal government out of workers' compensation benefits over a four-year period, according to an Associated Press report.
Miller admitted telling the U.S. Department of Labor that he was not employed from 2000 to 2004. In truth, he was working as a safety consultant during that period.
