An employee-leasing company owner who had clients in 10 states pleaded guilty Wednesday in Durham, N.C., to running a workers' compensation scam that took in millions of dollars.
Steven E. Edwards, 51, formerly of Durham, pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of mail fraud, one count of embezzlement from a health care benefit program and one count of tax evasion, the Greensboro News-Record reported.
Edwards faces up to a 25-year prison term at his sentencing on June 13. ...
