Regulations proposed by the California Division of Workers' Compensation would impose a $5,000 penalty for refusing treatment solely because a condition is not addressed by American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) guidelines. WorkCompCentral reported an incorrect amount in an article posted Thursday.
In addition, the division has deleted from the regulatory proposal a penalty for failing to provide medical treatment consistent with ACOEM. WorkCompCentral incorrectly reported Thursday that the proposed penalty was increased.
