The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Kansas City Power and Light (KCP&L) renewed their alliance addressing overhead power-line hazards in the telecommunication and cable television installation industries.
OSHA reported the program has an "exemplary" record with a zero-fatality rate since the original alliance was signed in July 2004.
OSHA regional administrator Charles Adkins applauded KCP&L for the effort to reduce electrical-contact accidents by raising safety awareness.
