North County Transit District of San Diego has experienced a 100% increase from just two years ago in its reserves for pending workers' compensation claims even though the volume of those claims has increased only 13%, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. As of June 30, the transit district had $3.8 million in reserves up for 190 claims. Two year ago reserves were set at $1.9 million for 176 open claims. The district has 600 employees.
