Texas has adopted a new medical network concept and other changes to its workers' compensation system under the provisions of HB 2600, which took effect on June 17. The recently enacted law includes increased monitoring of medical treatment that is intended to slow record breaking medical costs and improve care, and establishment of a state-run medical network with financial incentives to injured workers to get them to use the network.
