Garamendi Wins Primary

John Garamendi, has won the Democratic primary for California state insurance commissioner. He previously held that position from 1990 to 1994.The Republican primary winner was former state Commissioner of Corporations, Gary Mendoza.Political analysts are saying that Garamendi's victory puts him in a strong position to retake the office in November as it is widely held that the Republican position was significantly adversely impacted by the controversy surrounding former commissioner Chuck Quackenbush.
