IL Chamber Says Comp Drives Business Away

Illinois business leaders say that workers' compensation costs are keeping businesses from locating to the state, and causing existing businesses to leave. The Illinois Chamber of Commerce conducted a survey of more than 4,000 businesses around the state. 5 percent of those to whom surveys were sent responded, representing a broad cross section of industries, with about 40 percent of those representing large corporations with sales of more than $1 billion.
