The California Republican Party and a business group with ties to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's campaign demanded Friday that opponent Phil Angelides denounce the California Applicants' Attorneys Association and return all contributions received from the group.
They said money from the organization is tainted in light of recent disclosure that a CAAA governing board member had threatened to cut off referrals to doctors who did not contribute at least $2,500 to the governor's defeat.
