The Los Angeles City Council has joined Los Angeles County in deciding to replace Cambridge Integrated Services Group as a third-party administrator (TPA) handling workers' compensation claims.
The council voted unanimously Oct. 5 to let Cambridge's contract to serve as TPA for the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments lapse on Dec. 4 and to hire Tristar Risk Management of Long Beach, Calif.
Cambridge came in second among six companies vying for the contract, according to a recommendation packet filed by the Los Angeles City Personnel Department.
