Sierra Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: SIE), Las Vegas, NV, reported that income for the first quarter ending March 31, 2001 was $3.2 million or $0.12 per diluted share, compared to $1.6 million or $0.06 per diluted share, including charges, for the same period in 2000. Revenues for the first quarter of 2001 were $349 million, a 13% increase over the $308 million reported in the same period in 2000, exclusive of the company's Houston operations which were sold in the fourth quarter of 2000.
