Four Comp Bills to Gov. Davis' Desk

To California Governor Gray Davis' desk last week went a number of workers' compensation bills.The state Senate late Thursday concurred with Assembly amendments and approved Senate Bill 2093 by Jackie Speier, D-Hillsborough, which seeks to protect the California Insurance Guarantee Association from further carrier insolvencies by prohibiting surety bonds and forcing insurance companies to update their deposits more regularly to reflect the amount of business they write in the state.
