Ohio's top trail lawyer says the state has the best workers' compensation system in the country, despite the investment scandals plaguing the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
Philip J. Fulton, president of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, said in an op-ed column in the Toledo Blade Tuesday that before the scandal erupted in April, Republican Gov. Bob Taft's administration was drafting a reform package to strip $180 million annually out of system costs. Fulton said although applicants' attorneys were working with the administration, the cost saving measures are unnecessary.
