Famed Attorney Ben Marcus Passes at 96

Benjamin Marcus, a famous labor and workers' compensation attorney from Michigan, died at the age of 96 on Monday in a hospital in Santa Monica, Calif., after a long illness. Credited with shaping the workers' compensation laws of Michigan, and other states, Marcus was also the cofounder of American Trial Lawyers Association. Born June 30, 1906, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of a rabbi, Marcus moved to Richmond, Va., with his family where he graduated from high school in 1922.
