(Nasdaq: HGIC) today filed a Form S-3 shelf registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the issuance by Harleysville Group, at such times as it deems advisable, of one or more of: common stock, preferred stock, depositary shares, debt securities, units of Harleysville Group Inc., and preferred securities issued by Harleysville Group Capital Trust I and Harleysville Group Capital Trust II, up to an aggregate amount of $200 million.
