The Texas House of Representatives approved legislation Wednesday to create a nonprofit corporation to develop a framework for electronic medical records in Texas.
House Bill 1066 by Rep. Dianne White Delisi, R-Temple, would establish the Texas Health Services Authority as a public nonprofit corporation to "promote, implement, facilitate and create incentives for the voluntary and secure electronic exchange of health information."
