North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Jim Poolman announced a $148,874 compliance settlement affecting 25 North Dakota policyholders of Universal Underwriters Insurance Co.
Poolman said the policyholders will receive refunds ranging from approximately $2 to more than $20,000.
The commissioner reported the refunds stem from overcharges related to Universal's "Unicover" program, a loss-control incentive plan that rewards policy holders for controlling losses and implementing loss-control practices.
