Workers' compensation is the sole remedy for the survivors of the co-pilot who died when a plane carrying Sen. Paul Wellstone and family crashed in 2002, the Minnesota appellate court ruled this week.
Ironically, the court relied on another high-profile death case -- involving the late Minnesota Viking player Korey Stringer -- in upholding a lower court's decision granting summary judgment to the pilot's estate, the air charter company that employed him, and to the aircraft's owner.
