A brake manufacturer in Ontario, Canada, pleaded guilty to interferring with an accident probe by restarting an uninspected conveyor that had broken a man's arm earlier in the day.
Satisfied Brake Products of Point-Claire, Quebec, made its plea Wednesday in an Ontario courtroom and agreed to a $65,000 penalty for interfering and altering the cause of an industrial accident, the Ministry of Labour reported.
The incident took place in November 2003 and involved a young man who's glove caught in a conveyor belt system and broke his arm.
