Change-in-Condition Law Limited to Medical-Only Claims

The Georgia workers' compensation change-in-condition statute does not extend to cases where the claimant initially received income benefits and not medical, the state Supreme Court ruled. Justice Robert Benham wrote the 5-2 majority opinion in which justices concluded that Official Code of Georgia Section 34-9-104 does not apply in cases that involve an initial claim for income benefits.
