Delphi Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: DFG) announced yesterday that operating earnings in the first quarter of 2003 were $21.7 million, or $1.02 per share, an increase of 11% from first quarter 2002 operating earnings of $19.5 million, or $0.93 per share. Net income for the first quarter of 2003 was $22.5 million, or $1.06 per share, which included realized investment gains of $0.8 million, or $0.04 per share.
