Texas Gov. Rick Perry failed to announce his choice to head up the new Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) by the Oct. 1 deadline set by the Texas Legislature in workers' compensation reform legislation that Perry signed into law June 1.
"We're still working on it," Perry spokesman Robert Black said Monday.
Black said the administration is aware of the Oct. 1 deadline, but said the governor would "rather get it right than get it quick."
