FL Contractor Sentenced $1M for WC Fraud

Florida Treasurer and Insurance Commissioner Tom Gallagher announced today that the owner of South Florida based Cedar Shakes Supply, Inc. and Regency Roofing has pleaded guilty to organized fraud and workers' compensation fraud. Thomas R. Torok, 54, of Lake Worth, was sentenced today by Polk County Circuit Judge Ralph Artiliere to 10 years probation and was ordered to pay more than $1 million in restitution to three insurance carriers for unpaid insurance premiums.
