The Florida Chamber of Commerce is offering its opinions on reform of the state's troubled work comp system. The Chamber last week unveiled its 7 page list of proposed "reforms", though they point out that any reform that will reduce premiums and increase availability will be embraced. Among the proposals:
--Cap hourly attorney's fees on medical claims to $ 175 an hour, and simplify the filing process to reduce the need for lawyers.
--Cut all coverage exemptions by 2005 for construction and small business except for corporate officers with at least a 10 percent share in the business.
