HI Sup Crt OKs Psyche Claim re Demotion

The Hawaii Supreme Court last month ruled that a firefighter who suffered from psychological problems due to stress over the fire department's promotion process is entitled to workers' compensation benefits. In Davenport vs. City of Honolulu (#23141, 12/30/02), Davenport was a firefighter with a quest to be a Fire Captain. He had a successful career and took various tests for promotion through the ranks.
