The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) has fined Knape and Vogt Manufacturing Co. of Grand Rapids $134,310 for allegedly failing to adequately protect employees from safety hazards.
The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth, MIOSHA's parent agency, reported that in 2005 MIOSHA conducted a "planned, wall-to-wall inspection" at Knape and Vogt that resulted in 13 serious and four other-than-serious violations, with a total penalty of $16,875.
As part of a settlement agreement, the company abated all violations.
