EMC Posts Record 2Q Financial Results

EMC Insurance Group Inc. said Wednesday that the past quarter was its best ever since becoming a publicly held company 25 years ago. The Des Moines, Iowa-based insurance group reported record operating income of $13.8 million for the second quarter, surpassing the previous record of $10.39 million in 2006. For the first six months of 2007, operating income was $27.7 million compared with a record $28.45 million last year.
