The California Workers' Compensation Institute (CWCI) has issued a pair of bulletins reflecting that California's workers' compensation claim frequency dropped to a record low last year, but that carrier losses continued to increase. Meanwhile the Industrial Medical Council (IMC) of the Department of Workers’ Compensation has received evidence that the provision of medical services to injured workers is 28% more than non-industrial cases because workers' comp patients required more hand-holding, paperwork and mental effort.
