Jockey Insurance Bill Probably Dead

The bill to bring jockeys in Kentucky's Thoroughbred-racing industry into a workers' compensation system is probably dead for this session, its sponsor admitted Tuesday. Rep. Carolyn Belcher, D-Owingsville, gave her assessment of the bill's chances after the Senate rejected the House version on Tuesday, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported.
