The longer-than-expected closure of the Iowa Records Center has put all but the most recent files out of the reach of claimants, attorneys and even the workers' compensation staff.
Not wanting to build a backlog of requests for dated material, the state division has stopped taking any requests for case information that is older than Aug. 1, it said this month.
The state records office has been closed for relocation since August and expected to be reopen Oct. 1. But, that has not happened and there is no word when records will be available.
