A California appellate court tossed out a $54,000 judgment for attorney fees against a claimant who filed a personal injury action against a Malibu restaurant that didn't carry workers' compensation coverage at the time of his reported accident.
The 2nd District Court of Appeal issued an opinion certified for publication in the matter of Elias Valdez, a dishwasher, cook and janitor at a Malibu restaurant who claimed an industrial injury.
