American International Group, Inc. (AIG) today reported that its fourth quarter 2001 net income was $1.87 billion, compared to $1.80 billion in the fourth quarter of 2000.
Core income increased 10.3 percent to $1.98 billion or $0.75 per share, compared to $1.79 billion or $0.68 per share in the fourth quarter of 2000. These 2001 results include $0.03 per share related to Enron surety losses and a provision for Northridge earthquake claims.
